In this paper, polynomial chaos expansions (PCEs) are applied to angle-of-arrival-based localization. By applying a
polynomial chaos expansion on the least squares estimator, a new positioning method is designed. From this expansion,
three methods are discussed to obtain confidence regions of the position. Simulation results show that the proposed
methods provide a substantial gain in calculation time compared to a Monte-Carlo simulation, while giving accurate
approximations of the exact confidence region.
