Meudon Site of the "Observatoire de Paris" > Paris Observatory and the Meudon site

The Science Days will be hosted at the historical Meudon Observatory (Hauts de Seine Department, between Paris and Versailles), which as of today is referred to as the Meudon site of Paris Observatory.

Paris Observatory has three different sites: 

  • Paris (14th Arrondissement) - the historical astronomical observatry, founded in 1667, which today hosts the president's office and the central administration and some scientific departments and services;
  • Meudon (Hauts de Seine Department) - the historical astrophysical observatory, founded in 1876, hosting the majority of the scientific departmens and services;
  • Nançay (Cher Department, central France) - the radio astronomy station founded in 1953
